Roadwatch
Safer streets.
Start with your watch.
A mobile app concept for responsible community traffic reporting, combining safe evidence capture, clear information sharing and visible follow-up.
A report should have
a next step.
The concept explores how reporting can be clear and accountable without encouraging unsafe capture.
Citizens need to know what evidence to share, who receives it and what happens after submission. Roadwatch connects capture, review and tracking with a separate workspace for authorised reviewers.
Evidence verification and authority action remain distinct. A verified report does not imply that enforcement has happened. Sample reports, reward points and the street imagery are illustrative.
The design story,
in motion.
A short walkthrough introduces the concept and visual direction. Use the controls to play or view full screen.
From questions
to structure.
The process moves from provisional research themes to product architecture, reporting flows and wireframes. Select any board to inspect it at full size.

Affinity mapping
Six provisional themes organise the brief and discussion-guide questions. These are hypotheses for validation, not findings from completed interviews.

Information architecture
Home, My reports, Rewards and Help support citizen tasks. A separate workspace gives reviewers focused tools for evidence checks.

User flow
Safe capture leads to incident details, review, submission and tracking, with recovery paths for clarification and failed submissions.

Sketch exploration
Early layouts prioritise the reporting action, evidence, incident context and a clear next step.
Capture. Report.
Follow.
Follow the proposed reporting journey and the decisions that connect its screens.
A clear signal.
A visible next step.
Charcoal surfaces and signal-yellow actions support a focused reporting experience. Written labels explain progress alongside colour.

The core citizen experience
Home, report creation and follow-up connect the central tasks.

Citizen app and reviewer workspace
The complete concept includes eleven citizen screens and two authority views.
The system behind
the screens.
Explore safety-led colours and components, report flows, and final screens for RoadWatch in one browsable reference.
Ready for
validation.
The outcome is a design concept; usability results and real-world road-safety impact have not been measured.
Next steps are task-based testing with potential reporters and reviewers, focusing on safe capture, location correction, information sharing and interpretation of report status.
Project concept and design: Shruti Dhawan. Visual exploration was developed with AI assistance; street imagery is generated.
